  • 6SS, G/90+30, must be under 50 on July 21, 2023 and over 20 on January 1, 2023.

    Two Sections: Open and Reserve (U1800).

    Entry Fee: $105 online by January 17th midnight CT

    $115 online by June 1st, midnight CT;

    $125 online until July 10th midnight CT.

    $135 online until July 21st midnight CT.

    All entries will be completed online.

  • Dorm Rooms are available, initially ranging from $60-$85 a person. Reserve early! Nearby hotels – 10 within 2.5 miles 45 within 5 miles. Shop for dorm rooms at https://www.cavemanchess.com/dorm-rooms-for-tournaments.

  • USCF rated. Open section is FIDE rated. June supplement used for US Chess ratings which are used for pairings and prizes.

  • $5,000 Guaranteed:

    Open Section: $1000 - $500 - $250 - $150; Under 2200: $300 - $150; Under 2000: $300 - $125, No unrateds in this section.

    Reserve (Under 1800): $700 - $300 - $200 - $125; Under 1600: $225 - $150; Under 1400: $200 - $100; Under 1200: $150 - $75. Unrateds qualify for top prizes in this section only

    120 Grand Prix Points.

    All cash prizes are paid electronically within ten business days following the tournament. Payment methods include PayPal, be-checks, Zelle, and Venmo. Following the tournament, the prizewinners will be asked to fill out an online form for preferred method, and W-9s where needed.

  • There is no tournament check-in. Please verify your information online before the tournament.

  • Fri 1:00pm & 6:00pm; Sat 9:00am & 2:30pm; Sun 8:30am & 2:30pm.

  • Thu eve, GM Lecture, Dinner with Grandmasters and show, Saturday Blitz after R4. Blitz registration will be posted online separately. Free WiFi on campus. Caveman Chess Camp 7/16-21; adult-only camp sections available, see website for details.

  • Sets and Clocks: Caveman Chess provides sets, boards; please bring clocks. Please know how to set your clock for increment and how to add time to the clock in case of a time penalty. Print out instructions and carry them with you. See Setting http://pdxchess.org/wp-content/uploads/Setting-the-popular-digital-clocks-for-G90inc30.pdf . Also, check YouTube for videos of your clock and know how to add penalty time.
